The Saint-Denis Basilica hosts 70 royal tombstones that show the evolution of the funeral art from Middle-Ages to Renaissance.
Inside the crypt, you will discover the new sarcophagus installations (Merovingian, Carolingian) and the last tombs of the Bourbons.
The Capetian and Valois recumbent statues stand alongside the Renaissance mausoleums near where the choir stands, bathed in the colored light of the beautiful stained-glass windows.
This visit is guided by a speaker of the Centre des Monuments Nationaux.
