Description

Food markets are in the heart of French and Parisian life. They are the perfect place to taste the ingredients wich are a key element of French cuisine.

You will share a gourmet experience and visit the Aligre Market. Located in the 12th arrondissement of Paris, near the Bastille Opera, this market is one the oldest markets of the city. It kept a typically ambience with a sweet scent of old Paris. Its stalls with ingredients from all over the world, will surely bring you to culinary escape.
In a few minutes you can travel from North Africa to Bretagne, from Alsace to Italy from Portugal to the West Indies!  This cultural diversity is the result of the successive migration flows, the "Auvergnats" (from Auvergne region in France), the Portuguese, the Spanish, the Italians and eventually the North Africans. This melting pot truly gives energy to the market and the neighborhood !

During this 2h30 tour, your guide will tell you about the history of the area you are visiting, the market and French culinary specialties. You will taste fresh products, meet the merchants and learn how to choose fruits and vegetables depending on the season

Last but not least, your guide will share his favorite recipes !

This walking food tour is conducted in English every Tuesday and Friday
