Made in Goutte d’Or is a guided visit dedicated to the Goutte d’Or neighborhood in the 18th arrondissement of Paris.
As a true crossroads of African fashion, design and spices, we offer you to meet artisans, tailors and designers who chose to work in the most cosmopolitan neighborhood of Paris: wax fabrics, SAPE society, bogolan fabric, leather, plantain, chilis… make a stop in the heart of Little Africa!
Discover the workshops of the creators and tailors of the neighborhood and taste some exotic products.
Located in the 18th arrondissement of Paris, the Goutte d’Or neighborhood forms a rectangle between boulevard de la Chapelle, boulevard Barbès, rue Ordener and Gare du Nord’s railways. The large diversity of nationalities left its mark in this area.
Some stations and streets are very popular: rue Poissonniers, rue Poulet, Chateau Rouge station, boulevard Barbès, rue Dejean…
People come from Paris, but also from all over France and Europe to get these exotic products. Even the former First Lady of France buys her products there.
Apart from its popular and lively aspect, the Goutte d’Or neighborhood is also a hot spot for the textile world where the workers perfectly know their job.
Your guide: The visit will be carried out by Jacqueline Ngo Mpii, founder of the Little Africa cultural agency and specialized in the African culture in Paris. As a well-informed guide, she knows how to highlight the rich cultural and artistic African presence in Paris and its melting pot.
